Akhmedova Ballet Academy

The Akhmedova Ballet Academy is dedicated to providing the finest quality ballet training utilizing the Vaganova Method with personal and artistic mentoring to prepare young talented dancers to become strong and fully developed artists ready to take their places in major dance companies around the world.

The Professional Training Program at the Akhmedova Ballet Academy utilizes the Vaganova Method in which all renowned Russian dancers such as Nureyev, Makarova, Baryshnikov, Zakharova, Vasiliev and Osipova, have been trained.

Madame Akhmedova, herself a Professor of Choreography and Pedagogy utilizes the classical Vaganova training method supplemented with best practices for strength and flexibility training to better prepare her students for both classical and contemporary choreography. Students train six days a week and participate in diverse workshops. In addition, the students’ artistic sensibilities are developed by attending professional performances with Mme. Akhmedova and through discussion of assigned reading, videos and reviews.

In practice, Mme. Akhmedova uses a model that she terms “semi-private training”, in which class size does not exceed eight students, She and her teachers are able to provide the personal attention and correction that each student needs to grow as an artist, while allowing students to learn from the example of others as in larger classes.
